Lloyd’s Register 2024 Lifting Code Explained
Bardex Corporation, Goleta, Calif., released a statement detailing the Lloyd’s Register code for lifting appliances in a marine environment (CLAME), Code Notice 2. Bardex highlighted updates to the code that will affect shipyards looking to install shiplift and transfer systems. The company noted these changes focus on enhancing safety through a risk-based approach, particularly addressing “single points of failure” in the load path by requiring either redundancy or the application of risk factors.
